Declan Rice is expected to be available for England’s World Cup match against Ghana after suffering lower back pain during the win over Croatia, according to BBC.
The Arsenal midfielder was substituted midway through the second half, raising concerns about his fitness ahead of England’s next Group L match.
However, the issue is not expected to prevent Rice from playing against Ghana in Boston on Tuesday.
The back complaint is understood to be something Rice has been carrying for a while and will need to be managed during the tournament.
England manager Thomas Tuchel said after the Croatia game that Rice had felt discomfort in his lower back and upper hamstring area.
Tuchel said he did not want to take any risks, but added that Rice reassured him after the match and that the issue was “nothing big to worry about.”
