Liverpool are moving closer to a formal approach for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola after receiving positive indications that the France international is open to joining Anfield.
According to The Telegraph, discussions between the Premier League side and the 23-year-old’s representatives have been encouraging as Andoni Iraola continues to target reinforcements in attacking areas during the summer transfer window.
Any deal for Barcola is expected to require a significant financial commitment. PSG are believed to value the winger at more than £110 million, with Chelsea’s £117 million move for Morgan Rogers serving as a reference point. Reports in France have also claimed the Ligue 1 champions could demand as much as £145 million before considering a sale.
The French international is said to have no intention of agreeing to a new contract with the Paris club and is prepared to take the next step in his career by moving to England.
Following Mohamed Salah’s departure, Liverpool have made additional speed in the final third a priority, with Barcola emerging as one of the club’s main transfer targets. Should negotiations end successfully, the winger is expected to put pen to paper on a long-term contract at Anfield.
