Thomas Partey has been named in Ghana’s starting XI to face England in Boston, despite facing multiple criminal charges in the UK.
The 33-year-old was denied entry into Canada for Ghana’s opening match against Panama after his visa application was rejected, as he failed to disclose that he is subject to multiple criminal charges for sexual violence.
However, the US granted Partey a visa under the principle that he remains innocent until proven guilty, with US customs confirming he has not been convicted of any crime.
Partey has denied all charges and is due to stand trial in June 2027.
