Ruben Dias has defended Cristiano Ronaldo as criticism of the Portugal captain grows during the 2026 World Cup.
Portugal opened their campaign with a 1-1 draw against DR Congo, managing just one shot on target despite completing 740 passes.
The result led to increased scrutiny of Ronaldo, whose goal drought at major tournaments has now stretched to 10 matches.
Former France striker Thierry Henry was critical of Ronaldo on Fox, saying Portugal needed the team to score rather than focus on one player.
Dias, however, backed his captain and dismissed concerns over the pressure surrounding the veteran forward.
“Cristiano, of course, is used to dealing with the media pressure we usually face in the club, the national team, world tournaments, European competitions,” Dias said.
The 41-year-old is currently appearing at his sixth World Cup for Portugal.
