Real Madrid have formally submitted a complaint to UEFA seeking sanctions against Barcelona over the Negreira case, according to AS.
The report states that the complaint, prepared over recent months, has now been delivered to UEFA headquarters. Real Madrid are reportedly requesting disciplinary action that would prevent Barcelona from participating in European competitions.
AS also claims Real Madrid want titles won by Barcelona during the period under investigation to be removed from the club’s official record.
The move follows Florentino PĂ©rez’s re-election as Real Madrid president. The report links recent meetings with FIFA president Gianni Infantino and UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin to the club’s position on the Negreira case.
UEFA has not closed its investigation into the matter and reportedly paused proceedings while legal processes continued. The governing body is now set to review Real Madrid’s complaint.
