Ruben Dias says Portugal are ignoring criticism following their 1-1 draw with DR Congo in their opening match of the 2026 World Cup.
Portugal managed just one shot on target despite completing 740 passes as Congo frustrated Roberto Martinez’s side.
The result triggered criticism from fans and pundits, but Dias insisted the squad are not paying attention to the reaction.
“The criticism is not significant for us, it’s noise and part of the competition … It’s all noise,” Dias told reporters.
“It always happens if you have a match that doesn’t go well. We’re closing ourselves off from unnecessary criticism.”
Portugal will return to action against Uzbekistan in their second Group K match.
