Barcelona are looking to sign Jorge Salinas from Racing in the current transfer window, with talks progressing well and a deal possible before the end of June, according to Diario Sport.
The 19-year-old left back had a strong season in Segunda Division, making 33 appearances and contributing seven assists, drawing interest from the Catalan club.
Racing have set his release clause at around €16 million. To reduce the cost, both clubs are discussing a loan return next season, with Barcelona also considering offering a La Masia youth player as part of the deal.
Barcelona see Salinas as a long term option at left back, with his height and attacking ability fitting what the club looks for in young defensive signings.
