Thibaut Courtois has said his dream and goal is to finish his playing career at Real Madrid.
The Belgium goalkeeper is under contract with the Spanish club until 2027 and has already made clear his desire to renew his deal.
“For me, Genk is a closed chapter as a player,” Courtois said at Belgium’s training camp in Seattle.
“Genk has some strong young goalkeepers, so I don’t think I need to go back there as a player.
“If I can finish my career at Real Madrid, that would be my dream and my goal. We’ll see what happens in the coming years.”
Courtois also said he feels like a more complete goalkeeper because of his years at Real Madrid.
“I have many years at Real Madrid behind me, with a lot of pressure and many important matches. And that also teaches you a lot,” he said.
The goalkeeper is currently with Belgium at the 2026 World Cup.
