Real Madrid have sent a formal letter to UEFA demanding severe disciplinary sanctions against Barcelona over the ongoing Negreira scandal.
According to an official statement from the club, the case concerns millions in opaque, long-term payments allegedly made by Barcelona to former refereeing official José MarÃa EnrÃquez Negreira.
Madrid claim newly submitted evidence reinforces existing suspicions and shows a deliberate structure designed to exert undue influence over refereeing decisions.
The club argues that the alleged actions pose a serious risk to fair competition, competitive equality, neutrality and sporting integrity.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has urged the immediate resumption of UEFA’s independent disciplinary proceedings.
The club is demanding firm sporting justice from European football’s governing body, separate from the parallel criminal court case taking place in Spain.
