Bayern Munich are exploring a move to sign Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The German champions are considering several options to strengthen their attack, with the 17-year-old identified as their main target for the left wing. Ngumoha is aware of Bayern’s interest, which is being driven by head coach Vincent Kompany and the club’s board, although no contact has yet been made with Liverpool.
Liverpool have no intention of selling the teenager and instead plan to strengthen their options in wide attacking areas. Ngumoha signed his first professional contract in September, keeping him at Anfield until June 2028.
His emergence was a key factor in Liverpool’s decision not to recruit a direct replacement after Luis Diaz joined Bayern last summer.
Ngumoha made 29 appearances in all competitions during the 2025-26 season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
The England youth international is currently training with Liverpool’s senior squad in Florida ahead of the World Cup, although he will not be included in their tournament squad.
Liverpool are prioritising the recruitment of wide forwards this transfer window, with RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande among the players under consideration.
