Tottenham have received a boost in their interest in Napoli forward Antonio Vergara, but they may face competition for his signature.

Another player now being linked with Spurs is Antonio Vergara. According to CalcioNapoli24, Tottenham are monitoring the 23-year-old Napoli attacker.
However, Spurs are not alone in the race. Como are also interested in Vergara as they look to strengthen their squad before playing in the Champions League next season.
The report claims Como have already made contact over a possible deal. Napoli are believed to be open to selling Vergara for around £26 million.
That fee could be seen as a good opportunity for Tottenham if they decide to make an official move. However, Como appear to be moving quickly.
Vergara could give Tottenham more options in attack. He can play as an attacking midfielder or on the right wing.
However, there are still doubts over whether he would adapt quickly to the Premier League. He has mainly been used as a squad player since returning to Napoli from a loan spell at Reggiana.
Last season, Vergara played 19 matches in all competitions. He scored three goals and provided four assists, while playing just under 1,000 minutes.
His season was also affected by injuries, which made it harder for him to earn a regular starting place under Antonio Conte.
At 23 years old, Vergara still has time to improve. But Tottenham must decide whether he is the right signing for a squad that already has plenty of potential but still needs more proven quality.
