Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has identified Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni as his primary defensive target this summer, according to journalist Miguel Serrano.
Mourinho has already reshaped his backline significantly, with Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, and Ibrahima Konate all arriving at the Bernabeu this transfer window.
Bastoni, 27, was previously a target for Barcelona before the Catalans dropped out of the race. However, Inter president Giuseppe Marotta has firmly shut down any exit, insisting the Italian international is happy at the club and not for sale.
Madrid are expected to pay between €50-70 million if they are to convince Inter to part ways with one of Europe’s most sought-after centre-backs.
