AC Milan have confirmed Ruben Amorim as their new head coach, replacing Massimiliano Allegri who was dismissed following a disappointing end to the season.
The Portuguese manager inherits a Milan squad in need of rebuilding after a trophy-less campaign that saw the Rossoneri fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Amorim, previously in charge of Sporting CP and Manchester United, will look to restore his reputation after a turbulent spell in England. His move to Milan also brings an end to Manchester United’s compensation payments.
The Milan hierarchy expects Amorim to quickly install an attacking style of play and mount a serious challenge for the Serie A title.
