Thomas Tuchel has left Jude Bellingham out of England’s latest squad despite the Real Madrid star returning to action following shoulder surgery. The decision comes ahead of matches against Wales and Latvia, with the Three Lions boss opting to keep faith with the same group from September’s camp.

Tuchel revealed he spoke directly with Bellingham before making the call, insisting the midfielder remains central to his plans but is not yet at full fitness. “He hasn’t finished a match, he just lacks rhythm,” said the England coach, adding that the 22-year-old wanted to be called up.
The German also dismissed talk of tension with Phil Foden and Jack Grealish, who were also overlooked, stressing there are “no personal problems” and selection was based on consistency and performance.
England will face Wales at Wembley on October 9 before heading to Latvia five days later, sitting top of their World Cup qualifying group.
