Jude Bellingham has not been included in England’s latest squad, with manager Thomas Tuchel opting to leave out the Real Madrid midfielder despite his return from injury. Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is back in the fold, while Jack Grealish’s international exile continues despite strong club form for Everton.

Bellingham recently returned to action with Real Madrid after shoulder surgery that kept him out in September, but Tuchel has decided not to risk him for October’s fixtures. England face a Wembley friendly against Wales on October 9 before resuming World Cup qualifying with a trip to Latvia on October 14.

Saka, meanwhile, offers an attacking boost as he returns from a spell on the sidelines, with the Three Lions seeking to sharpen their final-third play. Tuchel’s men have been perfect so far in qualifying, with five wins from five games, 13 goals scored, and none conceded.

The full squad sees Marcus Rashford included again after impressing on loan at Barcelona, while captain Harry Kane – now with over 100 goals for Bayern Munich – leads the attack. Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson retains his place after two standout performances last month, while AC Milan midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is named from the start.

Notable omissions include Grealish, who has four assists in the Premier League this season but has not featured for England since 2024, and Manchester City’s Phil Foden, who has rediscovered form but has not forced his way back into Tuchel’s plans. Injuries also rule out Noni Madueke, Tino Livramento and Cole Palmer.

ENGLAND SQUAD IN FULL

Defenders: Dan Burn (Newcastle), Marc Guéhi (Crystal Palace), Reece James (Chelsea), Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa), Myles Lewis-Skelly (Arsenal), Jarell Quansah (Bayer Leverkusen), Djed Spence (Tottenham), John Stones (Manchester City)

Midfielders: Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest), Jordan Henderson (Brentford), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (AC Milan), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)

Forwards: Jarrod Bowen (West Ham), Eberechi Eze (Arsenal), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Marcus Rashford (Barcelona, loan from Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa)

England sit top of Group K in World Cup qualifying, with next summer’s finals in the US, Mexico and Canada already in sight. Tuchel’s men remain unbeaten, but the omissions of Bellingham, Grealish and Foden are certain to spark debate ahead of a crucial international window.
