Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named the 2025 Yashin Trophy winner at the Ballon d’Or award 2025 after playing a crucial role in Paris Saint-Germain’s quadruple, including a Champions League title.

The Italian goalkeeper has now matched Emiliano Martinez as a two-time winner of the award.

DONNARUMMA CROWNED WORLD’S BEST GOALKEEPER

The 26-year-old Italian was officially announced as the 2025 Yashin Trophy winner during the Ballon d’Or award 2025 in Paris, dethroning Emiliano Martinez, who had won the last two editions.

Donnarumma previously lifted the award in 2021 after helping Italy secure the European Championship.

KEY ROLE IN PSG’S QUADRUPLE

Donnarumma featured in 43 matches for PSG last season, keeping 17 clean sheets. His efforts guided the club to four major trophies – Ligue 1, Champions League, Trophee des Champions and Coupe de France – while also reaching the Club World Cup final.
