BONMATI MAKES HISTORY
Bonmati was called to the stage in Paris to collect her third successive Ballon d’Or. The achievement puts her alongside Lionel Messi and Michel Platini as the only players to win the Golden Ball three times in a row.
DOMINANT SEASON WITH CLUB AND COUNTRY
The midfielder recorded 20 goals and 16 assists in the 2024-25 campaign. Her performances helped Barcelona secure the Liga F title, Copa de la Reina and Supercopa de Espana, as well as reach the Champions League final, where they lost to Arsenal.
For Spain, she was named Euro 2025 Player of the Tournament after La Roja reached the final, only falling to England on penalties.

TOUGH COMPETITION FOR THE AWARD
Bonmati faced strong competition for the award. Arsenal duo Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russo were both in contention after their Champions League victory over Barcelona and England’s triumph at Euro 2025. Alexia Putellas was also among the frontrunners after another impressive season.
