Harry Kane continued his stunning start to the season as Bayern Munich cruised to a 4-0 victory over Club Brugge in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena.
The England captain netted Bayern’s second goal just 14 minutes into the clash, set up by Konrad Laimer.
That strike saw Kane reach 20 goals across all competitions this season a milestone he achieved in only 12 matches for club and country, surpassing records set by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It took Messi 17 games to reach 20 goals and Ronaldo 13 during the 2014/15 season, while Kane has done it faster than both.
The 32-year-old forward has also provided three assists so far this campaign and shows no signs of slowing down.
[The Mirror reports] Kane is now just two goals away from equalling Wayne Rooney’s record of 25 Champions League goals for a single club — the highest tally by any English player, set during Rooney’s time at Manchester United.
Bayern remain in dominant form, topping the Bundesliga table with 21 points after seven straight wins and maintaining a perfect record in the Champions League.
