Chelsea preparing £87m striker move as Spurs eye Brazilian wonderkid

Chelsea returned to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, with goals from Josh Acheampong, Pedro Neto and Reece James. Enzo Maresca’s side now sit 5th in the Premier League after eight matches.

As for Tottenham, they fell 2-1 to Aston Villa despite Rodrigo Bentancur finding the net, leaving Thomas Frank’s team in 6th place.

[Fichajes reports] Chelsea are ‘preparing’ a move for FC Porto striker Samu Aghehowa this winter and are willing to pay over £87million to secure the Spain international. The 21-year-old has impressed since joining Porto, scoring 35 goals in 54 games, including eight this season.

Aghehowa began his career at Granada before moving to Atletico Madrid and later joining Porto after a loan spell at Alaves. He has already earned three caps for Spain and is viewed as a player with huge potential.

Meanwhile, [TBR Football reports] that Tottenham Hotspur hold strong interest in Vasco da Gama forward Rayan. The 19-year-old has scored 10 league goals in 26 appearances and is also attracting interest from Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Brighton.

Journalist Graeme Bailey said: “Rayan has enjoyed a very good season, but it remains to be seen if Vasco are willing sellers. He has impressed hugely in recent months and a move to Europe is looking likely.”

Rayan has come through Vasco da Gama’s academy and established himself in the first team this year. Spurs reportedly view him as one for the future and an exciting long-term addition.
