Villarreal have confirmed the signing of 21-year-old American right-back Alex Freeman from MLS side Orlando City.
Freeman has agreed to a contract running until June 2032, with the transfer fee reportedly around €3.2 million, plus potential add-ons of up to €2 million and a percentage of any future resale.
The young defender has made over 40 appearances in MLS and has earned 13 caps for the United States national team, scoring twice in a friendly against Uruguay.
Freeman was named MLS Young Player of the Year at the end of 2025 and was included in the league’s All-Star XI.
