Liverpool’s long-standing interest in Barcelona defender Jules Koundé has resurfaced, with reports suggesting the Premier League club could prepare a major bid next summer.
The French international, 27, remains under contract at Barça until 2030 and has repeatedly been linked with a move to Anfield since joining from Sevilla in 2022 with speculation appearing in English media across 2023, 2024 and 2025.
However, the latest claim reported by the Daily Mail places a far bigger valuation on the defender than in previous links.
According to the report, Liverpool would be ready to table an offer worth €80 million for the Barcelona and France right-back, a role he has made his own despite originally developing as a centre-back.
Koundé is considered a vital figure in Hansi Flick’s squad. Barcelona paid €50 million plus a further €10 million in add-ons to sign him in 2022.
While Transfermarkt currently values him at around €65 million, his release clause not publicly disclosed stood at €1 billion in his last contract renewal, with the Catalan side only expected to consider offers in the region of €80 million.
