Manchester United have confirmed that Jacob Devaney has joined Scottish Premiership club St Mirren on loan for the remainder of the 2025/26 season, pending international clearance.
The 18-year-old midfielder will experience senior football for the first time after impressing with United’s Under-21 side this season.
Devaney has played every Premier League 2 match so far, captaining Manchester United in all 11 games.
A Republic of Ireland youth international, he has been at the club for several years and made his Under-18 debut aged 15 in 2023.
During the 2023/24 campaign, Devaney made 29 appearances for Adam Lawrence’s trophy-winning Under-18 team, the most of any player, operating across midfield and defence.
This season, he has continued his development at a higher level and featured in the EFL Trophy, scoring a solo goal against Notts County.
Devaney will now link up with St Mirren, who currently sit 10th in the Scottish Premiership, as he continues his progression.
