Barcelona defender Gerard Martin has no intention of leaving the club amid reported interest from AC Milan, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The 23-year-old Spaniard, who has transitioned successfully to a centre-back role under manager Hansi Flick, is focused solely on contributing to Barcelona. Reports indicate he has “closed the door” on any potential summer exit and is not entertaining offers from suitors.
Martin has emerged as a key figure in Barcelona’s backline this season, making 34 appearances across all competitions. His performances have earned praise, with Flick previously reluctant to sanction a departure during interest from Premier League clubs last summer.
AC Milan have been linked with the defender in recent weeks, keeping close tabs on his progress as they look to bolster their options. However, Barcelona are unlikely to consider selling, viewing Martin as an important part of their defensive setup.
Martin renewed his contract with Barcelona last year, with the agreement running until 2028 and including a high release clause.
The player’s commitment aligns with Barcelona’s aim to retain emerging talents as they compete in La Liga and European competitions.
