Bayern Munich are reportedly optimistic that England captain Harry Kane will sign a new contract, despite ongoing rumours linking him with a return to the Premier League or a move to the Saudi Pro League.
The striker, who joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, has been in fine form, netting 123 goals in under three seasons.
Kane’s current contract runs until 2027 and is said to feature a £57 million ($78m) release clause, which could theoretically allow a summer exit. Since arriving in Germany, he has established himself as one of Bayern’s most prolific forwards, thriving alongside Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, and Serge Gnabry.
After missing out on silverware in his debut season, Kane celebrated Bayern’s 2024-25 Bundesliga title, further cementing his value to the squad.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl provided a cautious update on a potential renewal, noting that formal negotiations have yet to begin but that communication remains ongoing.
“I said we were in talks, but the negotiations have not started yet. We are in close contact with Harry, and further steps will follow,” Eberl said.
