UEFA has imposed a total fine of €30,500 on FC Barcelona for two infractions during Matchday 7 of the 2025/26 Champions League league phase, in which the Blaugrana defeated Slavia Prague 4-2 away at Eden Arena.
The sanctions, published on Wednesday, include:
- €15,500 for the behaviour of Barcelona supporters, who lit flares in the stands, breaching Article 16(c) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.
- €15,000 for the delay in the team entering the field of play, violating Article 11(h) of the same regulations.
As a result of the delayed kick-off, UEFA has formally warned (and held responsible) head coach Hansi Flick. A warning is the lowest level of disciplinary measure applied to coaches or players, with more severe penalties (such as cautions, fines, or suspensions) possible for repeated or aggravated offences.
The match saw Barcelona secure an important victory thanks to a brace from Fermín López and goals from Dani Olmo and Robert Lewandowski, helping the side move closer to the top-8 in the league phase standings.
For comparison, Slavia Prague received a higher total sanction of €40,000 (€20,000 for blocking the exit of fans under Article 38 of the UEFA safety and protection regulations, and another €20,000 for lighting flares). UEFA also decreed the partial closure of Eden Arena for Slavia’s next European competition match, though this measure is suspended for a two-year probation period.
No further comments from Barcelona or Hansi Flick were included in the report.
