Bayern Munich have confirmed that Serge Gnabry has signed a new two-year contract with the club. The German forward was set to become a free agent this summer.
The deal is the first result of Bayern’s winter focus on extending key players and ensures Gnabry will complete ten years at the club by the time his new contract ends.
Gnabry’s extension follows a significant personal turnaround. Bayern were open to offers for him in the last two summer transfer windows, but the 30-year-old was determined to stay and fight for his place.
His persistence paid off with a strong first half of this season. He delivered impressive attacking returns and capably filled in as a number ten during Jamal Musiala’s long-term injury.
According to reports, Gnabry’s first choice was always to extend his stay, and he has taken a pay cut to make the new two-year deal possible.
While he may not start every game, his versatility provides manager Vincent Kompany with important tactical options. His experience and resilience also make him a valuable leader in the dressing room, especially after the summer departures of Kingsley Coman, Leroy Sané, and Thomas Müller.
From both a sporting and financial perspective, Gnabry’s renewed commitment represents a clear and positive decision for Bayern.
