Cristiano Ronaldo‘s absence from Al-Nassr‘s match is part of a protest against the club’s limited transfer activity, according to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
The 40-year-old, who is not injured, is reportedly intervening in transfers, including delaying Karim Benzema’s move to rivals Al-Hilal. His actions have also stalled N’Golo Kanté’s deal with Fenerbahce and Youssef En-Nesyri’s to Al-Ittihad.
Al-Nassr have made only two minor moves this winter while Al-Hilal, three points ahead, have signed five players. Agreements are finalized but await league approval.
