Barcelona coach Hansi Flick praised the club’s youth academy after their 3-0 win over Mallorca, a match that saw Marc Bernal score his first senior goal and Tommy Marqués make his debut.
Flick admitted he was unhappy with the first half but pleased with the team’s second-half response. He then specifically highlighted the role of La Masia in the club’s identity.
“Relying on La Masia is good for the club,” Flick said. “It’s how we do things. We’re also very happy about Tommy’s debut. He has a lot of confidence on the ball and knows what he’s doing.”
The German coach also celebrated Bernal’s milestone moment. “We celebrated Bernal’s goal a lot. He did very well and also managed to score. Now we have many matches coming up and it’s important that all the players are involved.”
The win, secured with goals from Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Bernal, allowed Flick to underscore his commitment to integrating young talent as Barcelona enters a busy period of the season.
