Barcelona have formally submitted a proposal to host the 2029 UEFA Champions League final at Spotify Camp Nou.
The club confirmed it has entered the initial candidacy process alongside the Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia, with the support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
“FC Barcelona formally expresses its willingness to participate… in the initial candidacy process for the organization of the 2029 Champions League Final,” the club said in a statement, proposing Barcelona as the host city and Spotify Camp Nou as the venue, “subject to the corresponding homologation and approval by UEFA.”
Camp Nou reopened last year following partial renovation, with the full refurbishment expected to be completed by late 2027.
Barcelona stressed the bid is currently in a preliminary evaluation phase. “The Club and the institutions involved have submitted the initial documentation required to move forward with the procedure,” the statement added.
“The formalisation of the final candidacy and the delivery of the complete dossier… is scheduled for early June 2026.”
Camp Nou has also been mentioned as a potential venue for the 2030 World Cup final, which will be jointly hosted by Spain, Portugal and Morocco.
