Liverpool’s 13-game unbeaten run ends with 3-2 loss to Bournemouth

Liverpool saw their 13-game unbeaten Premier League run come to an end as Bournemouth scored a 95th-minute winner to claim a 3-2 victory.

Evanilson opened the scoring after Virgil van Dijk failed to deal with a simple overhead ball.

Just seven minutes later, Alex Jimenez doubled the lead, slotting the ball between Alisson’s legs after a through-ball in the penalty area.

Liverpool pulled one back in injury time of the first half. “Van Dijk headed Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner into the net,” reducing the deficit.

The Reds equalised in the 79th minute, with Szoboszlai converting a free-kick after Mohamed Salah’s lay-off.

Bournemouth had chances to retake the lead late, but Alisson made key saves, and Evanilson missed a clear opportunity.

The final blow came deep in stoppage time. “Amine Adli was quickest to react after a long throw and scored,” giving Bournemouth the 3-2 win.

The defeat leaves Liverpool vulnerable in the title race, as Manchester United can level on points with a draw against Arsenal on Sunday.
