Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the owners of Liverpool, are reportedly in advanced talks to purchase La Liga side Getafe as part of their football expansion plans.

According to the Daily Mail, FSG have completed their due diligence on the Spanish club, with talks led by CEO Michael Edwards, Julian Ward, and Pedro Marques described as “positive.”

FSG have explored more than 20 clubs across Europe in recent years, including Toulouse and Malaga, but are now prioritising Getafe. The Madrid-based side has been under the control of Angel Torres since 2002. If FSG proceed, a deal is expected to be a formality.
