Virgil van Dijk has urged Andy Robertson to remain at Liverpool amid growing January transfer speculation linking the left-back to Tottenham.
“Robbo is a very important member of our team and I want him to stay,” Van Dijk said. “Whatever happens, let’s see.”
The Liverpool captain added he speaks to Robertson daily and acknowledged that the situation is not in his hands.
“Do I expect him to be here on Wednesday for the Qarabag game? That’s not on me, is it?” Van Dijk said, stressing he will reflect on his best memories of Robertson if a move occurs.
Robertson and Van Dijk have been key figures at Liverpool since 2017 and 2018, forming a partnership that helped the club win the Premier League, Champions League, and multiple domestic and European trophies.
