Alexander Isak Liverpool Transfer 2025

Alexander Isak has finally joined Liverpool in a record-breaking £125m transfer from Newcastle United. The Swedish striker forced his way out after a summer-long saga, and his agent did not hold back once the deal was done.

Vlado Lemic, who represents Isak, took a swipe at Newcastle’s handling of the move, sparking headlines after the transfer was confirmed on deadline day.

TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED

Alexander Isak spent the entire summer pushing for a switch away from St James’ Park. At one point, he stayed away from team training and worked alone, making it clear he wanted out.

He also went public about his broken relationship with Newcastle. The standoff finally ended when the Magpies accepted Liverpool’s record bid on deadline day.

The move set a new British transfer record at £125m ($169m), making Isak the most expensive signing in Premier League history.

THE GRAND SCHEME

The deal ended weeks of tension between Alexander Isak and Newcastle. Fans had seen the striker as their future star, but his determination to move made a split inevitable.

Liverpool, who had been searching for a long-term striker, moved quickly once Newcastle softened their stance. The signing shows the Reds’ intent to rebuild with world-class firepower.

Isak’s exit, however, leaves a bitter taste on Tyneside. Many supporters feel betrayed by the striker’s refusal to train, while others point the blame at the club’s lack of flexibility during the summer.

ISAK’S AGENT STATEMENT

After the transfer was confirmed, Alexander Isak’s agent, Vlado Lemic, delivered a cryptic but cutting message. Speaking to talkSPORT via host Jim White, Lemic’s words were read live on air:

“It’s nice when you have someone to be with, but it is even nicer when you know who you will never be with again.”

The remark was widely interpreted as a dig at Newcastle and their management of the transfer saga.

WHAT NEXT FOR ISAK

sak is now on international duty with Sweden. He is set to feature in their World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia on September 5 and Kosovo on September 8.

His Liverpool debut could come on September 14 when the Reds face Burnley in the Premier League. Fans at Anfield will be eager to see how the £125m striker fits into Jurgen Klopp’s system.
