Rasmus Hojlund has rediscovered his form at Napoli, scoring four goals in six games since joining on loan from Manchester United on deadline day.

[The Metro reports] Denmark coach Brian Riemer aimed a dig at United ahead of Denmark’s win over Belarus, saying Hojlund was thriving because he was “on a well-functioning team” where “players take pride in doing good for others.”

Riemer said the 22-year-old striker has the quality “for both leagues” and that his current success shows the importance of team setup rather than league style.

Hojlund himself said: “Not much has happened other than me getting into a good football team. I’ve played a lot and it’s been going really well. I’ve felt fit and sharp.”

Napoli boss Antonio Conte added: “He’s a 22-year-old who was on the sidelines at Manchester United. He has significant room for improvement… he has the potential to become a star, and he’s proving it.”

United agreed to loan Hojlund with a £38m obligation to buy in 2026 after new arrivals pushed him down the pecking order.

He joins a list of former United players who have thrived elsewhere with teammate Scott McTominay winning Serie A MVP last season after helping Napoli secure the Scudetto.

Napoli remain top of Serie A and face Torino next on October 18 as they continue their title defence.
