Al-Nassr moved within two points of Saudi Pro League leaders Al-Hilal after a narrow 1-0 win over Al-Taawoun on Monday. The only goal came from a first-half own goal by Mohammed Al Dossary, deflecting Sadio Mane’s cross past goalkeeper Mailson.
Despite dominating early, Cristiano Ronaldo saw a free-kick and a goal ruled out, while Inigo Martinez and Kingsley Coman were also denied by Al-Taawoun’s keeper. Mane hit the post in the second half, and a late penalty claim for Ronaldo was overturned after an offside in the build-up.
Al-Nassr held on to claim all three points, marking their third successive league win and keeping up the pressure on Al-Hilal at the top of the table.
