Nottingham Forest are closing in on the appointment of Vitor Pereira as their new head coach, according to Sky Sports.
The ex-Wolves manager is poised to succeed Sean Dyche, who was dismissed after only four months in charge of his boyhood side.
Forest and Pereira still need to finalise the remaining contract terms, but an agreement is now considered a formality.
If confirmed, Pereira would become Forest’s fourth permanent manager this season, following Nuno Espirito Santo, Ange Postecoglou and Dyche.
The Portuguese coach kept Wolves in the Premier League last term by steering them clear of relegation. But a 10-match winless run earlier this season ultimately led to his departure.
