Guardiola Demands City Revival “We Cannot Lose Games – Man City Is So Perfect”

Pep Guardiola has urged Manchester City to shift their current momentum and return to winning ways following a challenging run of form that has delivered just two victories in their last seven matches across all competitions. The team has yet to secure a win in the Premier League this calendar year.

Ahead of Saturday’s Premier League encounter at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers, the City manager addressed the squad’s struggles with a mix of realism and determination. “We cannot lose games,” Guardiola said. “Man City is so perfect we cannot lose games.”

He continued: “It is what it is. We have to change the dynamic and win games tomorrow and next Wednesday and if we don’t finish eighth we play games in February to play more games.”

Guardiola chose not to linger on the recent shocking 3-1 Champions League loss to Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt — a result that highlighted City’s vulnerabilities amid injuries and inconsistent performances. Instead, he stressed the urgency of regaining consistency and rediscovering their trademark winning mentality.

A victory over Wolves, currently struggling at the foot of the table but unbeaten in the league in 2026, is seen as essential to kickstart a revival, build confidence, and improve their standing in what remains a highly competitive Premier League season.

The comments reflect Guardiola’s frustration with the recent dip including back-to-back defeats to Manchester United and Bodø/Glimt while underscoring his belief in the group’s ability to turn things around starting this weekend.
