Fabio Paratici rejoins Tottenham after Juventus trial fallout

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the full-time return of Fabio Paratici as one of two sporting directors, 2½ years after his departure following a false accounting case involving former club Juventus.

The Italian was among several officials banned after Juventus received a 15-point penalty linked to alleged false bookkeeping. Paratici’s 30-month ban, initially imposed by Italian sports authorities, was extended globally by FIFA and upheld on appeal in 2023, prompting his Tottenham exit.

Last month, Paratici secured an 18-month plea-bargain deal in Italy’s general judicial system, with the sentence suspended. He has continued to deny any wrongdoing, alongside ex-Juventus president Andrea Agnelli.

Paratici revealed he has been working as a consultant at Tottenham “for a number of months” and expressed excitement over his permanent return.

“I’m convinced that working in partnership with Johan we can build a special future for the club and our supporters,” he said in a club statement.

Tottenham confirmed Paratici will share responsibilities with fellow sporting director Johan Lange under a new football structure aimed at “strengthening leadership, collaboration and long-term decision-making.”

“Together, they will lead our men’s football strategy and drive an ambitious new chapter,” the club added.

The restructuring follows the departure of long-time chairman Daniel Levy last month, marking another significant shift in Tottenham’s leadership setup.
