Cole Palmer scored a first-half hat-trick to lead Chelsea to a 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, setting two significant records in the process.
The victory marks Chelsea’s fourth consecutive Premier League win under manager Liam Rosenior, with Palmer’s historic performance at the heart of it.
The England international opened the scoring with a 12th-minute penalty, added a second from the spot later in the half, and completed his treble with a powerful finish from open play after a flowing team move.
The hat-trick secures two major milestones for Palmer. He is now the only player in Premier League history to score three first-half hat-tricks, having also done so against Everton and Brighton this season.
He also breaks a Chelsea club record, moving to four Premier League hat-tricks — one more than club legends Didier Drogba, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and Frank Lampard.
