Cole Palmer showed off a new celebration after scoring Chelsea’s first goal in their 3-1 win over Wolves, appearing to send a message about recent rumours.
After converting a penalty, the midfielder covered his ears, a gesture widely seen as a response to speculation about him being unsettled at Stamford Bridge.
When asked about it after the match, the 23-year-old confirmed the theory. “Everyone loves to chat rubbish, don’t they?” Palmer responded.
“I don’t pay too much attention to it. You see things. But I feel like I’ve come from a strong place anyway so I don’t pay attention to it.”
The celebration and his subsequent comments directly address the external noise, underlining his focus on his performances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
