Real Madrid are actively exploring ways to repair the strained relationship between Vinicius Jr. and the Bernabeu crowd following his heavy booing during the recent match against Levante, according to Cadena SER.
The jeers extended beyond Vinicius to Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde, with fan frustration also directed at the directors’ box amid anger over Xabi Alonso’s dismissal and the team’s Copa del Rey elimination. The club views the treatment of Vinicius as unfair—given the collective struggles of the side—and believes a gesture is required to restore the bond with supporters.
Options under consideration include Vinicius addressing fans directly on the pitch, making a public statement, or tying the situation into ongoing contract renewal discussions to emphasize unity.
Kylian Mbappe addressed the controversy ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Monaco, defending his teammate: “I understand them, but if they’re going to boo, it should be the whole team, not just one player. It’s not Vinicius’ fault. If there are boos, let them be for everyone. We’re all responsible.”
Mbappe further praised the Brazilian as “a fantastic player, an incredible guy,” adding: “We have to protect him better. He’s not alone at Real Madrid.”
