Kylian Mbappe’s late winner sealed Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over Getafe in a fiery clash marked by red cards and post-match accusations from Jose Bordalas against Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham.

Real Madrid battled to a tense 1-0 win over Getafe in a chaotic La Liga encounter filled with dismissals and controversy, as tempers flared between players and coaches.

Kylian Mbappe’s 78th-minute strike proved decisive at the Coliseum, sending Los Blancos top of the table ahead of the upcoming El Clasico.

Introduced in the second half, Vinicius Jr’s fiery cameo changed the match and the mood. His duels sparked frustration within Getafe’s defence, leading to Allan Nyom’s red card barely a minute after coming on. Moments later, Mbappe converted Arda Guler’s pass to score his 10th league goal of the season.

Getafe’s troubles deepened when Alex Sancris was also dismissed late on, leaving the hosts with nine men.

After the final whistle, Getafe boss Jose Bordalas accused Vinicius and Jude Bellingham of “provoking” his players and bench during heated moments on the touchline.

“It was with Bellingham. Vinicius came up to me and said: ‘Very good substitution.’ Then Bellingham came up and said something,” Bordalas told reporters. “Vinicius doesn’t have to provoke me. Nyom’s sending-off marked the game.”

He also questioned the officiating, claiming Vinicius “simulated aggression” and that Nyom’s red was “at most a yellow.”

The tension escalated further when Getafe defender Juan Iglesias was caught on camera telling Vinicius: “That’s why everyone hates you. Learn from your teammates.”

Amid the storm, Mbappe once again proved decisive. The Frenchman’s strike his tenth goal and twelfth contribution in nine league games reinforced his status as Madrid’s difference-maker.

His growing link-up with Arda Guler continues to shine, the pair combining for the winner in a moment of class that cut through the chaos.

Madrid’s victory keeps them two points clear of Barcelona heading into El Clasico on October 26, with both sides facing injury woes and mounting pressure in what promises to be a fiery showdown.
