Barcelona vs Levante Comeback

Barcelona showed once again why they’re never out of a fight, storming back from 2-0 down to beat Levante 3-2 in a dramatic La Liga clash. Goals from Pedri and Ferran Torres sparked the comeback, before a late own goal sealed all three points for the defending champions.

Levante’s dream start

Newly promoted Levante shocked the visitors early. Ivan Romero finished off a quick counter in the 15th minute, and José Luis Morales doubled the lead from the penalty spot just before halftime after VAR spotted a handball by Alejandro Balde.

At the break, Levante led 2-0, and Barcelona looked frustrated despite creating plenty of chances through Marcus Rashford, Lamine Yamal, and Ferran, who had already rattled the crossbar.

Pedri and Ferran turn the tide

Whatever coach Hansi Flick said in the locker room worked. Just four minutes after the restart, Pedri pulled one back with a thunderbolt from distance after being set up by Yamal.

Moments later, Ferran Torres leveled things up with a smart volley from Raphinha’s corner. The momentum completely shifted, and Barcelona began to push hard for the winner.

Late drama seals it

Levante held firm for most of the second half, with goalkeeper Pablo Campos pulling off a key save from Raphinha. But just after the 90th minute, Yamal whipped in a dangerous cross that Levante defender Unai Elgezabal accidentally headed into his own net.

The late own goal handed Barça a 3-2 win — a victory that looked unlikely at halftime but showed once again the team’s resilience.

Rashford and Lewandowski back in action

Marcus Rashford made his first La Liga start since joining on loan from Manchester United, though he was subbed at halftime for Dani Olmo. Flick still praised the Englishman, saying he showed “how good he is and how he can help us.”

Robert Lewandowski also returned from injury, coming off the bench for his first minutes of the season.

Déjà vu at Levante

Interestingly, Barcelona News pointed out that this wasn’t the first time Barça staged late heroics at Levante. Their last meeting at the Ciutat de València three years ago also ended 3-2, with Pedri on the scoresheet and a late winner sealing the night.

What’s next

Barcelona now sit on two wins from two games, scoring six goals in the process. They’ll travel to Rayo Vallecano next weekend as they continue their title defense. Levante, still without a point, visit Elche looking to bounce back.
