Kylian Mbappe has joined Cristiano Ronaldo and Ronaldinho in an exclusive Clasico club after finding the target again for Real Madrid in a crunch clash with arch-rivals Barcelona.

The World Cup-winning France international has made a habit of doing that since becoming another ‘Galactico’ at Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2024, emulating the exploits of all-time greats.

Real Madrid signed Mbappe to deliver in the biggest games, and fixtures do not come much bigger than meetings with Barcelona.

Mbappe failed to find the net in his first Clasico, a 4-0 defeat, and was again on the losing side in the Spanish Super Cup, despite scoring in a 5-2 loss. He struck once more in a 3-2 Copa del Rey defeat and hit a hat-trick in a 4-3 reverse in May.

Fast forward to the present, and Mbappe opened the scoring in another Clasico at the Bernabeu after being played through by Jude Bellingham.

Having now scored in four consecutive Clasico matches, Mbappe joins an elite group. He becomes the third player to net in four successive El Clasico games across all competitions in the 21st century after Ronaldinho Gaucho between 2004 and 2006, and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2012.

Mbappe has endured plenty of pain at the hands of Barcelona but will hope to turn that around this season. He already has a Champions League hat-trick to his name and continues to chase domestic and European success with Real Madrid.

Bellingham was also on target in the latest clash, becoming the youngest Real Madrid player in the 21st century to both score and assist in a Clasico, surpassing Vinicius Junior’s record.
