Valencian referee Juan Martinez Munuera has been appointed to officiate FC Barcelona’s upcoming match against Real Oviedo at the Spotify Camp Nou.
This will mark his return to Barcelona games after nearly two years; his last match for the club was a 3-1 win over Alaves on February 3, 2024.
Martinez Munuera has previously overseen 33 Barcelona matches, recording 21 wins, six draws, and six losses. His last high-profile game involving the club was the 2024 Spanish Super Cup final, a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid.
For Real Oviedo, newly promoted to La Liga, this will be the first time Martinez Munuera officiates one of their games.
Debuting in LaLiga in the 2013/14 season, he is one of Spain’s most experienced referees. Andalusian official Mario Melero Lopez will assist with VAR duties.
