FC Barcelona have officially confirmed that their La Liga Matchday 5 clash against Getafe will be played at Estadi Johan Cruyff on Sunday, September 21, at 9:00 p.m.
This will be the second time in the league that Barcelona host a game at their reserve-team stadium, having already welcomed Valencia there earlier in the season. The club continues to await the final permits required to reopen the renovated Spotify Camp Nou.
In their statement, the club highlighted:
“FC Barcelona announces that the La Liga Matchday 5 match against Getafe, on Sunday, September 21, at 9:00 p.m., will be played at Estadi Johan Cruyff.”
Barcelona also thanked their fans for their patience during the transition period, noting:
“The Club continues to work intensively to obtain the necessary administrative permits for the opening of Spotify Camp Nou in the near future. FC Barcelona thanks its members and fans for their understanding and support during such a complex and exciting process as the return to the new Spotify Camp Nou.”

Camp Nou return date remains uncertain
The Catalan giants have already secured the Final Works Certificate for the stadium renovation, but they are still waiting on the First Occupancy Licence from the Barcelona City Council. The hope within the club is to host Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou on September 28 if approval is granted in time.
However, even if the stadium reopens later this month, it is highly unlikely that Barcelona will be able to play their first UEFA Champions League home game of the season against Paris Saint-Germain at the iconic ground. Current indications suggest that Montjuïc Stadium will instead host the high-profile European fixture.
Barcelona fans will now have to wait just a little longer for the long-anticipated return to their revamped Camp Nou, a project that remains central to the club’s sporting and financial future.
