Senegal are set for disciplinary action from CAF after their players briefly walked off the pitch in protest during Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco.
The incident followed a VAR-awarded penalty to the hosts, which Senegal coach Pape Thiaw deemed incorrect—prompting a 14-minute delay before Sadio Mane helped persuade his teammates to return. FIFA president Gianni Infantino condemned the scenes as “unacceptable”.
CAF has confirmed proceedings against the Lions de la Teranga, with potential sanctions looming.
