Vincent Kompany has delivered a major personnel update at FC Bayern, offering a far more optimistic picture ahead of the club’s next competitive fixture.
The Bayern head coach stressed the importance of having his full squad available at the decisive stage of the season, with several players already back and others set to return soon.
“It’s about having the squad fully available at the right time. That’s important. Dayot Upamecano was out, but he’s back now. Raphael Guerreiro was out, but he’ll be back on Monday or Tuesday. Josip Stanisic will probably be back. Jamal and Alphonso Davies are back. Serge Gnabry was back against PSV. Nicolas Jackson is back. I’m happy just to be able to say that.”
Kompany highlighted Bayern’s progress through a difficult period and his hopes for the weeks ahead.
“We’ve come through the month well. Hopefully we can go full throttle again this month so we can see the best of FC Bayern. Then it could be a good month in the end – with everything we’ve been through.”
Looking further ahead, the coach underlined the need for full depth as Bayern prepare for a crucial stretch of the season.
“Then hopefully we’ll have the full squad back in February – and in March we’ll need the whole squad to go on the attack.”
