Barcelona’s interest in Julian Alvarez is growing, but the Atletico Madrid forward is keeping all options open regarding his future.
[Fabrizio Romano reports] the Argentine has not made any decisions yet and remains attentive to the market, with several top clubs monitoring his situation.
Barcelona see Alvarez as a leading candidate to become the long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski, with the club hopeful of making a marquee summer signing as they edge closer to returning to the 1:1 Financial Fair Play rule.
However, there is nothing advanced at this stage, with any potential move dependent on Barcelona’s financial recovery, possible player sales and wage-bill flexibility.
Atletico Madrid remain in a strong position, with Alvarez under contract until 2030 and not expected to be easy to prise away.
