Chelsea have reportedly made an enquiry for Como attacking midfielder Nico Paz, who is also a transfer target for Real Madrid.
[TBR Football reports] that the Blues have now contacted Como about the 21-year-old Argentina international, confirming earlier links to the talented playmaker.
Paz has impressed in Serie A this season, and Chelsea view him as a potential addition to their growing pool of young talent under Enzo Maresca.
However, Real Madrid hold a major advantage in the race. Paz was previously on the books at the Bernabeu, and Los Blancos have a buy-back clause in his contract.
The report adds that Paz is said to be keen on returning to Madrid to prove himself at his former club, which could complicate Chelsea’s pursuit.
For Maresca, Paz could have been an ideal fit offering creativity alongside Cole Palmer and reducing the reliance on the England star.
But with the midfielder seemingly prioritising a Real Madrid comeback, Chelsea may face an uphill battle to convince him otherwise.
